Exclusive novelty Geo. Graham Tourbillion Orrery
Graham Company announced new exclusive limited watch Geo. Graham Tourbillon Orrery. 2013 is the 300-years anniversary since Jorge Graham, a good friend of Isaac Newton, designed a mechanical model of the solar system which size equaled to pocket watch. The gadget was in store for Charles Boil, the Earl of Orrery.
In the center of clock dial there is a tourbillion with a golden carrier decorated by the engraver. In the center of the tourbillion there is a shining diamond that stands for Sun. The planets: sapphire Earth with a rhodium Moon and ruby Mars are moving around the brilliant around the clock dial.
A hand-winding mechanism, designed by Christophe Claret is installed in the case. The mechanism is complicated by a central tourbillion. Decentralized clock hands show hours and minutes. There is also a zodiacal scale, 100-year calendar, which will be functioning properly for 300 years. The year indicator is located on the backside of the watch. Power reserve is for 72 hours. The case is made of pink gold, 48 mm in diameter. Watch-guard is made of crock and decorated with a golden buckle. Only 10 specimen of the watch will be produced. The production will go on for 2 years and a half. The model will be sold exclusively to collectors.
